MARINE INSPECTION
Guyana Shipping Act Cap.49:01 require that all vessels registered Guyana Flag should be in compliance with Marine Inspections as needed from time to time.

Requirements needed when:
*If a vessel has a detention in the last 12 Month at the time of registration must be surveyed to confirm that all previous deficiencies has been rectified to the satisfaction of the Guyana Flag Administration. The cost of this Inspection must be paid by the Owner at the time of Registration. If a vessel under the Guyana Flag is detained and the deficiencies show a breakdown on the ISM System onboard the vessel .The IMSAG administration will review the detention report and if deem necessary , a Flag Inspection will be applicable to the vessel in order to maintain the Registration

* An Annual Inspections are required to be done at no cost to the owner. If a registered vessel under the Guyana Flag has showed good record with the PSC and the Recognized Organization, the Flag Inspection may be waived for two years. This decision will be made by the Flag Administration upon review of the vessel’s history in a yearly basis.

* The ship-owners or operators are welcome to ask the Maritime Safety and Environment Protection for local Flag Inspectors where the vessel is trading in order to avoid any delay due to a required Flag Inspection.
